Gardea

Gardea K. Mayon, is a Liberian Filmmaker and the Chief Executive of Kanon Film Studioz, a post production solution center he setup with few great film editors in and out of Liberia and an acting coach. He studied Mass Communications and English at the United Methodist University. Gardea has over 15 years of experience in the film industry with several certificates from local and international trainings. A 2017 graduate of the Royal Arts Academy, Nigeria, owned by veteran Nollywood producer, Emem Isong Misodi. In 2006, he completed the TMI College of Performing Arts & Technology, Ghana. Canon D’Bosz as he is affectionately called, has mentored and continue to serve as mentor to so many filmmakers in Liberia and other parts of West Africa. He has won several awards and participated in many film festivals across the globe. A resource person at the Annual Africa Cinematography Festival held in Lagos Nigeria. Recounting his humble beginning, he was quick to mention starting off as a Production Assistant after which he moved to gaffer. This young and passionate filmmaker, has served most of the film crew positions including, continuity, lines, DIT, production manager, camera assistant, cinematographer, producer, editor, Director just time name a few. At present, he is the Screenwriter and director at MJM Productions Inc. Canon is married to Mrs. Augusta Mayon and they have two boys. Canon both children are upcoming filmmakers with his second son having two films now to his credit.
